It seems like these days we’re just hearing about news story after news story regarding someone getting COVID-19. Whether that be a loved one, an esteemed public figure, or a stranger, it’s quite unfortunate these days. Today will, unfortunately, be no different, as yet another actor has contracted the infamous virus. This time it’s Idris Elba, who tested recently and this morning has revealed that he contracted the virus. He took to Twitter to officially reveal the news, and many fans of his work are not happy.
“I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated,” said Elba. “I will keep you updated on how I’m doing. No panic”. We send our wishes for Idris Elba to have a swift and safe recovery.

With the lack of symptoms though, it looks like he should be just fine. With his condition, Elba urged his fans to “think about social distancing, washing your hands” which is excellent advice. If you know anyone who’s been tested positive for COVID-19, be sure to get yourself tested just to be safe.
Idris Elba is well known for a lot of his movies. Recently, he starred in the recent Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw as Brixton Lorr. Otherwise, he’s best known as Heimdall in the Thor movie series and Luther in the TV series of the same name. He’s a very talented English actor, and we’re excited to see what he produces next.
Unfortunately, Elba joins a long list of actors who have contracted COVID-19. Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson recently were tested positive for COVID-19 while in Australia. NBA player Rudy Gobert as well recently tested positive for COVID-19 which resulted in the suspension of the current NBA season. These are only a few, and many others have contracted the virus.
