As you can see from the picture, which was taken around 9am today, the whole city is covered in smoke, which is due to the wildfires that have been affecting a lot of the states in the country, including Illinois.
While some cities have suffered more than others, those living in Chicago have started saying that it feels different, as some people have been having trouble breathing or even performing some of their daily tasks. Some have even said that the city is in a terrible state now because of the combination of smoke and heat, which has made it unbearable for many.
Fortunately, the image has also raised awareness of the situation. Residents have begun sharing their own experiences, along with tips for those who have to work outdoors while air quality remains poor. For now, it’s unclear how long the smoky conditions will last.
