Since the poster design for Injustice 2 appeared, we haven’t heard a whole lot about the upcoming game. And while we still don’t know the full roster of playable characters, a new trailer revealed that two members of the Suicide Squad will be joining the ranks. The crazy Harley Quinn and reliable Deadshot add to the team.

While Harley is returning from Injustice: Gods Among Us, Deadshot appears as an entirely new member. This is most likely because of his recent portrayal by Will Smith in the Suicide Squad film. However, the design showed for both characters links more directly to their comic book designs, rather than in the new DC movie.

Harley keeps many of her signature weapons from the last Injustice game, including her baseball bat and hammer. However, she does gain two new hyena friends, Bud and Lou. Harley is known for having hyenas, although Injustice: Gods Among Us did not include them in her battle repertoire. On the other hand, Deadshot’s weapons include a knife and just a few guns, as expected.

This next Injustice will have many things consistent with Gods Among Us. The game focuses on DC superheroes, allowing players to somewhat customize and hone their fighting skills with each hero or villain. Many of the more popular characters will certainly translate over, such as Wonder Woman, Superman, Batman, Aquaman and Harley Quinn.

However, Injustice 2 does have a different feel to it. The game’s description implies more of a customization feature, in both look and power of characters. And in addition to Deadshot, Injustice 2 has already included Gorilla Grodd, Blue Beetle, and Supergirl. With so much time left before release, I certainly hope a lot more unique characters will be added to this roster.

Injustice 2 is projected to be ready around March 2017, although pre-orders have already started. It will be available on PS4 and Xbox One.
