It’s insane to me how many people there are in the world who truly believe that their actions have zero consequences. It’s as though there’s a brick wall in front of them that prevents them from seeing reason. That’s what several customers at a CVS Pharmacy in Atlanta, Georgia, experienced after an incredibly rude older lady began demanding medication ahead of other people in line.
I could never imagine being a witness to something like that because of the second-hand embarrassment I’d feel. But it proves that there are people willing to literally do whatever it takes to get what they want.
The video above was posted to TikTok by user @joinicole_, a content creator in the Atlanta area. On the video itself is text that reads, “Experienced my first Karen today 🤦♀️.” It truly is that because suddenly, an elderly woman who is also walking a small dog appears from an aisle and heads towards the CVS’s pharmacy area in the back. She must have already been causing a ruckus because, in response to her appearance, a man in line said, “Stop yelling!“
The man and the woman immediately get into a screaming match, with her eventually tossing her bag to the ground and getting into a position as though ready for a fist fight. She then picks up her bag and places it on the counter, where the man had been waiting for his medication, and he grabs and tosses it to the floor.
A new set of text then reads, “Mind u this is after she walked off and started yelling loud at another employee in the store for a Manager.” She then tries to get in the content creator’s face, trying her hand at that station instead. The woman then moves on to a third station that must have been opened up just for her. You’d think things would end there, but she continues to become more irate, continuing to verbally harass the man from earlier and the content creator.

Even after her transaction was over, she continued to cause issues, even calling on the pharmacy manager to speak with him privately. All while this was happening, her poor dog was sitting by her silently. He was behaving better than she was.
Commenters were also shocked at the woman’s behavior, but many were more upset that the employees and even people who shouldn’t have been involved had to deal with this. One person partly blamed the pharmacy itself for the woman’s actions, saying, “The pharmacy technician and clerks should not have allowed this. The way they coddle bad behavior from certain folks is unacceptable.“
Other comments were a lot more lighthearted, with one specifically saying, “Throw some lexapro in her bag just because.” It’s unfortunate that these employees will likely have to deal with her again once she comes back for her next refill, but it’s true; they shouldn’t tolerate being treated that way. Hopefully, something can be done about her before the next time she comes in to avoid her rudely yelling at anyone again.
