It’s always terrifying to see someone driving recklessly on the road, especially on a highway. However, there will be times when the driver isn’t doing that voluntarily. Fortunately, for one San Antonio, Texas, driver, a driver in another car managed to save their life after falling unconscious in the driver’s seat.

We helped an unconscious driver today on the highway. A life was saved. detectives updated us that he is stable before we left the scene and thank you to the nurse who stopped and provided CPR until the ambulance arrived. You are a blessing. Stay safe friends. #staysafe#caraccident#sanantonio#highway#nurse

It’s a good thing things turned out well for the driver, but it’s terrifying to think about what could have happened had the couple who stopped the vehicle not intervened. There is even a point where the incapacitated driver is almost rear-ended by a giant truck. Texas is a bit of a hazard when it comes to accidents this winter.

The above video was posted to the TikTok page @anddykaywalker67, which belongs to a woman named Anddy Kay Walker, a mother who constantly posts about her family. In this particular video, things were a little bit different, as it comes from the point of view of inside a car on a San Antonio highway.

At the beginning of the video, it almost seems as though Anddy is filming a reckless driver who is swerving from lane to lane. In fact, the swerving car gets in front of a giant truck at one point, but is thankfully not hit. However, when Anddy and the driver of the car she was in went around the truck to see what had happened to the reckless vehicle, they saw it had hit a median. That’s when they realized that something might be wrong.

Anddy and the Texas driver then decided to drive past the reckless vehicle only to discover that the driver inside was unconscious. In this moment, Anddy and the driver made a bold decision and put their car in front of the unconscious driver’s car and slowed down. This allowed the other vehicle to hit the back of their car and slow down until someone arrived to help.

According to the caption of the video, “We helped an unconscious driver today on the highway. A life was saved. detectives updated us that he is stable before we left the scene and thank you to the nurse who stopped and provided CPR until the ambulance arrived. You are a blessing. Stay safe friends.”

Commenters were quick to praise Anddy’s actions, with one person chiming in to say, “Please post a GoFundMe so we can contribute towards your car repairs!” Another person was more focused on the couple’s actions and their quick thinking, saying, “A tailgate is replaceable, someone’s life is not! Smart thinking and Great save on y’all‘s part, God bless you 🙏.”

Fortunately, the man who was unconscious is in the hospital and recovering, though the situation is likely going to stick with Anddy for the rest of her life. That was some incredibly quick thinking that, if not done, could have caused a lot more problems for other drivers.
