Insane New York Woman Goes on Bizarre Rant About Race at Asian Grocery Store, ‘So She Wants Us To… Segregate?’

Well… that’s certainly an opinion, I guess

The U.S. is truly a melting pot of different backgrounds and ideas. When we stray from that idea, cultures are forgotten and people are left divided. Apparently, one irritated woman in New York is totally okay with that. According to her, she doesn’t like the fact that white people and people of non-Asian backgrounds like to share Asian grocery stores. Her weird take shows us that the idea of segregation can come from any specific background. However, this idea remains the same: People of all backgrounds deserve to enjoy things.

A New York woman allegedly felt slighted by the fact that people of non-Asian descent sometimes like to try different foods at Asian grocery stores. On a TikTok video posted by Ed (@etchaskej), user @say_qis shares her backwards opinion that has the internet talking. She said she likes to “give snark” to white people at Asian grocery stores, even “side-eyeing” them. She goes on to say that she wants to ask them, “What are you doing here?”

Ed says that the video is embarrassing, and she shouldn’t feel good about her take. He states further, “We are all foreigners in spaces that don’t belong to us, all the time.” In reference to Madeline’s video, he said that it’s normal to feel a little out of your depth when you’re in a grocery store belonging to a different culture of people. There are so many options, and it’s totally normal to feel overwhelmed. Ed shares that he felt a bit out of his depth at a Mexican market until one of the employees welcomed him and asked him if he needed help with anything. Showing a sense of community to others doesn’t cost anything. According to Ed, “Being kind is not only free, it helps you to put your own darkness into perspective.”

Commenters agreed that Madeline’s take isn’t it, and that few people actually feel this way. One commenter asked, “So she wants us to… segregate?” Another person pointed out, “Idc if someone judges me for being in an Asian grocery store. I am lucky to live in a time where I can easily try whatever food I want from across the globe.” It’s a good idea for everybody to integrate the appreciation of various cultures into their day-to-day lives. When we ignore other cultures, we never learn. It’s good to embrace our country’s uniqueness and what everyone brings to the table.
