She had every right to demand a refund

Everybody out there has had a bad hair day once or twice. On some occasions, the bad hair day may turn into a bad month if you’re left with a bad cut. One Georgia woman was not pleased when she ended up with a bad hairstyle after “cheating” on her hairstylist and seeking out new prospects. She called her hairstylist out on social media and, well, everything went downhill from there.

TikToker @__kailah manages a hair salon business where she does wig installs, weaves, and more for individuals seeking a new style or an update to their old style. Unfortunately, she let the ball drop and severely disappointed a recent customer. The customer fled to social media for comfort with a video captioned, “POV: You cheated on your hairstylist.” She said her old hairstylist would never let her hair look like this as she shows how unhappy she is with her new hair. Her hair is blonde but you can see her old, darker hair poking through the back. It’s not a great job and, looking at it, you hope she didn’t pay much for it.

Kailah immediately responded to the TikTok on her own social media. She tried to defend herself by saying that she’s never experienced a customer “hopping on social media” to badmouth her work. She did the client’s hair and asked her if she liked it at the end. The client allegedly told her the only thing she wanted changed was to make the ponytail a little higher. Kailah moved it and said the client seemed happy. However, the client texted her later and said she wasn’t happy with the ponytail after all. She said, “the tracks are showing my hair in the back.” Kailah told her she didn’t have time that day so the client asked if she could have a partial refund instead.

Kailah initially took accountability and told the client she needs to “pay better attention” with doing styles like that. The client continued to ask for a partial refund but Kailah told her she wasn’t going to give her that refund because it was “something that can be fixed.” This was not met well with commenters on Kailah’s TikTok. One commenter said, “As fast as you talking is how fast you should have refunded her.” Another commenter stated, “Hairstylist don’t be taking nooo accountability.”

Kailah eventually got fed up with the comments agreeing with her client. She made an update video explaining that she was going to give the client the refund she asked for. She goes on Cashapp and shows her audience that she refunded the amount to the client for the hairstyle gone wrong. One commenter hilariously stated, “My crew, let’s go. Our job is done.” Everybody got what they wanted… Except maybe Kailah, that is.
