The famous heavy metal band, Iron Maiden, in conjunction with Roadhouse Interactive and 50cc games, has just announced Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast, an RPG based on the group’s lore, artwork, and mythology that will see release on mobile platforms sometime later this year.
In a statement to the press James Hursthouse, CEO of Roadhouse Interactive said: “As a lifelong fan, I have always thought that Maiden’s music, lyrics and cast of characters would provide the perfect basis for a deep RPG experience. With this game, we’re creating an outstanding RPG that will appeal to all mobile gamers, including those discovering Maiden for the first time.”
Legacy of the Beast was developed in close collaboration with the management of Iron Maiden and in it players will assume the role of the bands well-known mascot, Eddie, (in all of his various and uniquely powerful forms) while exploring various worlds, time travelling, and encountering strange and unique characters drawn and inspired from the art and mythology of Iron Maiden. Legacy of the Beast will, of course, feature music from the band’s vast discography, including previously unreleased live tracks, all of which will be adapted for the game by engineer Tony Newton under the close scrutiny of founding member and bassist Steve Harris.
