In recent years, cross-platform gaming has become a staple in certain games, preferably multiplayer shooters, in which genre Hunt: Showdown also befalls. The adrenaline-fueled world of Hunt: Showdown offers a lot of unique mechanics as you take on other players and monsters from the deepest of horrors, such as Rotjaw. Released in 2018, this first-person shooter is still receiving updates that add a bit more quality to the overall experience. When released, crossplay and cross-platform options weren’t an option, but things have changed as these have become more popular in recent years.
Hunt: Showdown Cross-platform Explained
Yes, as of update 1.3, Hunt: Showdown has partial cross-platform compatibility.
With that said, cross-platform in Hunt: Showdown has its limits, depending on the consoles you play on. For example, if you are gaming on PlayStation 5 and your friend is on PlayStation 4, you can team up and form a lobby together. The same rule applies to Xbox One and Xbox Series players.
On the other hand, cross-platform multiplayer between PlayStation and Xbox is not supported in Hunt: Showdown. Although players from both consoles might end up in the same game via random matchmaking, they can’t send direct invites or create parties. If you want to play with friends who own a different console, your only option is to initiate random matchmaking on the same server and hope to be placed in the same game.
Is Hunt: Showdown Crossplay?
Hunt: Showdown does not support crossplay between PC users and console players. This limitation is because new content is released on PC before it’s available on consoles. As a result, crossplay between PC and consoles has not been implemented.
Cross-Save and Cross-Progression Explained
Hunt: Showdown doesn’t have cross-save or cross-progression features, unlike cross-platform play, which is still possible. Your achievements, character progress, and in-game currency are tied only to the platform where you earned them. You can’t transfer progress from one platform to another.
