Good news for Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag lovers is spreading over the internet, as the new Skull & Bones game finally upon us. You’ll be a sea pirate in this game, living to sail and sailing to raid. However, there ain’t no Edward Kenway around, meaning that the hand-to-hand combat system in Skull & Bones will be so much different from what you expect.
Skull & Bones Hand To Hand Combat System
Unfortunately, there’ll be no hand-to-hand combat in Skulls & Bones. You can get off your ship in certain areas to buy items and upgrades, but you can not attack other players and NPCs with fists and swords in this game. This is very different from the experience of AC: Black Flag, in which you could operate on the field as well.
It’s noteworthy that you can not engage in hand-to-hand combat even when you’re boarding the enemy ships. After you destroy the enemy’s ship, there’ll only be an animation to watch as your crew aboard and bring in the loot. The same goes for the raid fort missions, where you need to attack a castle and shoot down its gunners. So it’s kind of new for the AC fans to play Skull & Bones, where your captain will not touch anything but the steering wheel.
According to the reports, Skull & Bones was in development to be an Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag expansion. But after the idea of an online game with ship battles in the sea got bigger, it became a standalone title. This game has been in development since 2013, and now players can finally jump into their ship to engage in PvP/PvE battles.
Skull & Bones is currently available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
