Jennifer Aniston recently celebrated her 55th birthday. The former Friends star obviously had an outpouring of love for her big day. Friends, family, and fans likely gushed over the actress as she was honored on her special day. Meanwhile, the star’s best friend, Courteney Cox, gave one of the most moving tributes to the birthday girl. The social media shoutout also paid homage to the duo’s late co-star, Matthew Perry.
Cox took to her Instagram account on Aniston’s birthday to share two photos of the pair together. “Happy Birthday my sweet Jenny Louise. Also don’t know why I call her that…but I sure do love you,” she wrote in the caption of the post. In addition, Cox added a clip of Aniston’s Friends character, Rachel Green, speaking to Matthew Perry’s Chandler Bing.
Jennifer Aniston’s Birthday Was a Time of Reflection and Remembrance
In the video, Rachel sadly tells Chandler that Cox’s character, Monica Gellar, broke her seashell lamp. “Not sure why this is one of my favorite clips… I guess it’s because nobody else in the world could make this line sound so cute,” Cox said of adding the clip to the birthday tribute.
Meanwhile, Jennifer Aniston couldn’t help but comment on Courteney Cox‘s birthday post. “You BROKE IT!” she commented, referring to the video. “I love you,” Aniston added, posting a red heart emoji to end her message.
For her part, Aniston also shared some thoughts about turning 55. In a moving video of herself at several different ages, a voice-over spoke about getting older, per InStyle. “What they don’t tell you about getting older is that you’re also all the years that came before that year. I just turned 28, but I’m also still 27, and 26 and 23 and 19 and 11 and seven and one,” a female voice says in the video as the actress is seen smiling and enjoying her life at different stages.
Jennifer Aniston’s birthday was a moving tribute to herself, life, and growing older, and also included Matthew Perry. It was perfect and heartbreaking at the same time. Fans loved it and were reminded what a privilege it is to grow older surrounded by loved ones.
