Jennifer Lopez fell under fire for her style choice as she rocked a plunging black dress for a weekend outing with daughter Emme. The singer, 55, was spotted out and about with one of her twins last Saturday, and users seeing The Daily Mail‘s photos quickly pounced.
The sighting came as JLo continues to spark divorce rumors with husband Ben Affleck, whom she has not been spotted with in two months. Lopez, who married the actor in 2022, is living apart from her husband as the couple continues to attempt selling their $68 million mansion. Fans seeing the shopping snaps commented on the split talk, but many focused on JLo‘s deep-cut dress as they wondered if it was an appropriate look for the occasion.

Braving a daring neckline, JLo accentuated her curves in a sweeping black sundress that fell to the floor.
Highlighting her toned arms and shoulders, the “Jenny From The Block” singer rocked spaghetti straps as she went eye-popping up top, although with a loose-fitting, maxi design, the dress shrouded Jen’s toned legs. Meanwhile, 16-year-old daughter Emme wore denim shorts and a checkered shirt. The mom and daughter duo were spotted at a Coffee Bean, where JLo purchased a cold beverage for her daughter, shared with ex-husband Marc Anthony.
Not one to forego her glam, Jennifer wore dark shades and her hair down, also donning her signature hoop earring finish.
Dress ‘Not Suitable’ For The Occasion
Quick to slam JLo’s fashion choice was a user writing: “I remember when Hollywood had class.” Also appearing unimpressed was a user saying:
“Why on earth is she dressed in a low-cut backless dress to go shopping with her daughter?! Who is she trying to show off for? And who called the media to come and take a dozen pictures of her? I feel sorry for her twins.”
Meanwhile, over 170 fans upvoted a comment reading: “Hardly suitable dress for a day out with your child is it.”
Some even hoped that JLo might one day step out in a casual outfit. “Can’t she just wear jeans and a t-shirt, like a normal mother . . . always looking for attention,” one fan replied.
JLo has rocked some casual looks of late. In July, and during her extended Hamptons vacation, the pop star was spotted in sporty spandex as she enjoyed private gym sessions with manager Benny Medina. She has, however, mostly been defaulting to glam outfits of late, not limited to a recent Instagram dress showoff shouting out designer Dior.
Despite raging divorce rumors that have spanned this entire summer, JLo has so far refused to comment on the drama.
