While ‘throwing ice into the toilet’ is a metaphor many would love to hear now, one Kansas hospital committed the deed, though, in a literal sense. While checking their work chat on their phone, one hospital worker’s coworker was cleaning a bathroom when she discovered a massive block of ice just sitting inside the toilet. Shocked by the bizarre discovery, she shared a photo of the scene in the chat, but who’s supposed to use that specific toilet now?
“I have questions,” remarked a Reddit comment, as hundreds of others did as well. OP has an idea of what might have happened; the block of ice could have been something shipped in a medicine crate to the Kansas hospital’s pharmacy to keep the contents cold. “Some medicine ships with dry ice to keep it cold, usually they just leave the ice in the box and my department disposes of it when we come get their trash,” the poster explains. “I dont know why they would put it in the toilet.” Seeing ice cubes in toilets or urinals is something you might seldom see in a fast-food restaurant. But a giant block of ice sticking out of a toilet in a hospital is certainly not normal, nor likely acceptable.
“Lol when I saw the post title I imagined a sizeable block of ice but still small enough to fit inside a toilet bowl. I didn’t expect the thing to be sticking out of the toilet,” exclaimed a Redditor. “At least it will ultimately fix itself,” says another. Some people joke about urinating on the block to melt it away gradually, but that would most certainly cause more problems than necessary. Unless someone in the hospital comes forward or was caught on a surveillance camera, then that poor bathroom custodian has some rather peculiar explaining to do to their supervisor.
And as expected, one commenter does chime in their stance against the current political climate: “ICE belongs in the toilet.”
