Prince William blocks Kate Middleton’s efforts to break certain royal traditions when it comes to their son Prince George, leading to a major couple’s quarrel. The Prince and Princess of Wales are, together, parents to three children, including sons Prince George, 11, and Prince Louis, 6, and 9-year-old daughter Princess Charlotte. Since their marriage in 2011, Kate and William have remained committed to parenting their kids, equipping them to carry on the legacy of the British monarchy.
Despite their shared commitment to raising beautiful kids worthy of their titles, the duo has disagreed over certain parenting issues. A major disagreement between Prince William and Kate Middleton involved a choice of secondary school for their son, Prince George.
According to OK Magazine, William has a preference for Eton College, his and Prince Harry’s alma mater. However, the Princess of Wales is “less than impressed” with the idea of sending their son off to boarding school, as is tradition among the royals. This differing opinion over their first son George’s education led Kate Middleton to disagree with Prince William, as it defied their plans for the monarchy in the long run. A source told the outlet,
“Sending George to such a stuffy, upper-crust institution goes against all of their efforts to modernize the monarchy.”
Prince William’s Plan For His Son Could Favor Taxpayers
Royal commentator Ingrid Seward believes Prince William stands a better chance of winning the dispute when the time comes. According to her, the boarding school, Eton College is close to the family’s home in Windsor’s Adelaide Cottage. Hence, it would be feasible to have the same string of security watch over George, and the rest of his family concurrently, thereby cutting costs on tax-payer-funded security. She divulged,
“All this makes an enormous difference because the royals are now under such scrutiny as to how much they cost the taxpayer. The security, which is very expensive and we pay for, for these members of the Royal Family when they’re at school, is why Charlotte, Louis, and George are all at the same school at the moment.”
For the time being, Prince George continues to attend Lambrook School, along with his two siblings. He would likely remain there until he turns 13, as the preschool accommodates kids up to that age. This gives Kate and William about two more years to reach a befitting agreement.
