Kelly Ripa received very mixed reactions as a cheeky Instagram photo was used to promote a news story about her and husband Mark Consuelos last year. In April 2023, E! News posted to its IG, sharing a 2021 image from Kelly’s social media and seemingly not having everyone on board.
The photo, showing Kelly leaning forward in a bathing suit and with cohost hubby Mark checking her out, proved popular on Kelly‘s Instagram, but E! viewers weren’t so keen. Kelly, who has been married to Mark since 1996, made headlines last Spring for joking that she and her spouse were “taking a vow of chastity” now that they are co-workers on Live!
Kelly Ripa Ups The Ante On Instagram
Enjoying a swanky terrace with an infinity pool backing onto ocean waters, 52-year-old Kelly sent the camera a naughty gaze as she bent right forward in a backless black one-piece.
Highlighting her curves and tiny waist, the mom of three had her Instagram fans loving the vibe as Mark exaggerated his shocked-come-delighted expression, and his eyes were glued to his wife’s backside. Flaunting his ripped torso as he stood behind Kelly in only swim trunks, Mark appeared impressed by his wife’s body, with Kelly writing: “When the end is in sight…“
Kelly’s fans left over 200,000 likes. “Kelly, that’s not fair, beautiful!” one fan replied. The feedback proved less positive over on the E! feed, though.
Fans Think It’s In Poor Taste
Going down the sarcastic route, one user replied: “There’s an array of class in the world today.” The story even fed over into The Daily Mail‘s showbiz section. Over 500 comments were left, and not many were flattering.
“Oh Lord….really? How old is she? Please, have some pride,” one user replied, with over 600 others agreeing. Another called the Persona Nutrition ambassador “classless,” with a third writing: “I have secondhand embarrassment for her.” Agreeing, another wrote: “Cringe. I’m embarrassed for her.”
Kelly and Mark are known for their flirtatious social media posts, but likewise for having fans love their steady marriage. The couple met on TV series All My Children. By 1996, the two had eloped to Las Vegas to tie the knot. Nearly 30 years later, they’re watching kids Michael, Joaquin, and Lola grow up.
Kelly is followed by over 3 million on Instagram. She recently shared throwback photos of husband Mark’s 30th birthday, shouting out his “leather pants” and “bangs.”
