Ken Urker and Gypsy Rose Blanchard‘s romance continue to raise eyebrows as the arrival of their first child nears. The lovers announced they were expecting a baby in July, just months into their rekindled romance. It also didn’t help that Gypsy was freshly out of a marriage with Ryan Anderson, her ex-husband. With fans’ disapproval mounting, Ken and Gypsy are telling their side of the story, but their explanation exposes the flaws in their relationship.
The soon-to-be parents recently appeared on The Viall Files podcast, and Urker opened up about how he reacted to the pregnancy news. He recalled that Gypsy dropped the “very shocking” news on FaceTime while he was getting ready for work, causing him to take some time to process it. Agreeing with fans’ opinions on the timing of their conception, he told the hosts:
“I would agree with the sentiment that, yes, it was very much too soon. At the same time, it’s a child. It’s a blessing. I think I had a whole cocktail of emotions in that moment, and I think I needed a minute to process.”
He continued, “After the initial shock, I was, like, [telling Gypsy,] ‘Let me call you back in like 10 minutes. I felt like I just needed to walk around and breathe for a minute.'”

When asked by host Nick Viall if becoming a father was always a dream, Urker answered, “For sure. I think I have always wanted the American dream of like married, the kids, a house, and all that. That’s like my life goal.” Unfortunately, his response didn’t sit well with listeners, who criticized him for not wanting a kid with Gypsy because he loves her.
Sadly I don’t see this relationship ending well. Ken already looks at her like he’s not in love. They both LOVE to be center of attention by the things they say….Something just feels off about him.”
Another comment read, “Ken Urker said on Life after Lock Up that he didn’t think she would get as famous as she did. It’s so obvious why he’s with her.” A third fan wrote, “Ken is the worst actor. You can tell he’s only with her for clout. It’s so weird and creepy.”
