In celebration of its upcoming launch, a new Kena: Bridge of Spirits trailer was released earlier today by developer Ember Labs. The launch trailer gives viewers a deeper look at the story and the world. It also highlights some gameplay through a handful of battles and platforming sequences. Along with the launch trailer, a photo mode for Kena: Bridge of Spirits has also been announced. Hunter Schmidt, Ember Lab’s Animation Director, said the following:
We’re very excited to share the ‘Cheese!’ function in Photo Mode… When players have set up their perfect photo angle, they’ll have the option to have the characters in the photo say ‘CHEESE!’ and strike a pose. Many characters have multiple poses, so you can snap a great variety of fun shots in the same location. I’m very excited to see what kinds of photos players will capture,”

Play as Kena, a young Spirit Guide travelling to an abandoned village in search of the sacred mountain shrine. Find and grow a team of tiny spirits known as the Rot who maintain balance by decomposing dead and rotting elements. Enhance your companions’ abilities, create new ways to manipulate the environment and uncover the secrets of a forgotten community hidden in an overgrown forest where wandering spirits are trapped.”
Kena: Bridge of Spirits is set to release on September 21st for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC for $39.99. According to a tweet from Ember Labs, it will available to “play at 9 PM PST” and the pre-download for PlayStation is open now.
