As of late, there has been more drama surrounding Kevin Costner than his character on Yellowstone. After many rumors claimed that Costner was done with the series now, the actor is saying he wants to finish it. The second part of Season 5 is reportedly debuting in November, and Costner hopes to rejoin the show even with his complicated contract issues. Season 5, part two, is set to be the final part of the Yellowstone series.
According to Variety, Costner also stated that he has some ideas on possible storylines if he returns. Kevin believes that he needs to be proactive in what happens. He goes on to state that he has had his own fantasy of how things might be. Costner continues by saying that it may be more up to Taylor Sheridan as he is the writer and showrunner.
Kevin Costner Has Ideas for Yellowstone
“I’d like to be able to do it but we haven’t been able to,” he said. “I thought I was going to make seven [seasons] but right now we’re at five. So how it works out — I hope it does — but they’ve got a lot of different shows going on. Maybe it will. Maybe this will circle back to me. If it does and I feel really comfortable with [it], I’d love to do it.”
Contract disagreements with Kevin Costner have prevented the new episodes of Yellowstone from being released. This, along with the actor’s extremely limited shooting schedule, has put his character, John Dutton, in jeopardy.
Just last September, Kevin threatened to sue the producers over his salary loss after being released from the show. Costner was very upset that they offered him less money than they had in previous seasons, and that was the start of all the mayhem.
Although it may be without Kevin Costner, Yellowstone will continue. Hopefully, the new episodes will in fact drop in November. It has been a very long time since fans have gotten new episodes. The most recent episode of Yellowstone aired on Jan. 1st, 2023
