Kevin Costner has been hinting at his return to Yellowstone for months now. However, the actor needs one condition met before he rejoins the cast. If Costner likes the script and the story’s direction, he would have no issues coming back. Costner plays rancher John Dutton. John is in a continuous fight to keep the land that has been in his family for generations. However, many forces are working against him.
According to News Break, Kevin Costner left Yellowstone to work on his dream project. That would be a series of Horizon movies. Although recently, the first Horizon film got absolutely picked apart by critics. Costner believes that he was in the right in the Yellowstone situation and has been very open about that.
Kevin Costner May Return to Yellowstone
“I have taken a beating from those f–king guys, and I know a lot of times where it’s coming from. I just elected not to get into that. But if you know me well enough, I made ‘Yellowstone’ the first priority, and to insinuate anything else would be wrong. I did not initiate any of those things. They did,” Costner told Deadline.
Yellowstone’s creater, Taylor Sheridan, has been going back and forth with Costner for months now, as they are not on good terms at all. Sheridan blames Costner for the show’s recent struggles, and Costner, in turn, blames Sheridan.
Many believe that even if Kevin Costner returns, he will not be welcomed back by his co-workers. The 69-year-old has “no friends” among the cast and crew. He basically caused the show to end before anyone wanted it to, and everyone involved is mad about that.
Yellowstone is set to end with the second half of Season Five. However, there is still time for Kevin Costner to return and give his character a good send-off. Fans shouldn’t be too upset about that, but who knows? Could Cosnter’s return re-ignite this series?
