Sarah Jessica Parker and her former Sex and The City co-star Kim Cattrall have been butting heads for years. The women who played Carrie Bradshaw and Samantha Jones on the show might be best friends on screen. However, they’re anything but friendly in reality. Their years-long feud has played out in the media. So, when Parker announced the SATC sequel series And Just Like That, it was clear that Cattrall wouldn’t be returning. However, that has seemingly changed.
During Season 2 of And Just Like That, fans were surprised to see Kim Cattrall make a cameo as Samantha. Although, she and Sarah Jessica Parker didn’t share the screen together, Samantha was seen on a phone call with her on-screen bestie. Now, the hope for Season 3 is that Cattrall will return, and Parker is allegedly having to make exceptions for that to happen.
Sarah Jessica Parker Forced To Bend on Kim Cattrall Feud for and Just Like That Season 3?
“Since they’ve paved the way for Samantha to come back, it’s assumed that they’ve done a deal with Kim and they’re just waiting for the right time to announce it,” an insider tells Life and Style. “The word is that she’ll get to do all her scenes in London. They’ll be bending over backwards to pay her an absolute fortune, and it’s all on her terms because she’s so central to the franchise.”
“Everyone, including Sarah, has had to accept that this was necessary. However, the rivals and lack of forgiveness is still there as far as Kim’s concerned, the source continued. She doesn’t do fake friendships, she’s not going to sit around and pretend to be best friends with Sarah, even if she does take the paycheck.”
Cattrall and Parker’s feud dates back to 2004 when they didn’t sit together at the Emmy Awards. Later, it was reported that Cattrall had a bad taste in her mouth when Parker was offered more money and a producer credit on Sex and The City. In addition, the How I Met Your Father star was also said to have felt left out when the other three cast members formed a friendship that didn’t include her.
Things went from bad to worse in 2018 when Kim Cattrall’s brother died unexpectedly. Sarah Jessica Parker offered her condolences via Instagram. However, Cattrall wasn’t having it. “I do not need your love or support at this tragic time, @sarahjessicaparker,” she replied.
It has yet to be confirmed whether or not Kim Cattrall will officially return for Season 3 of And Just Like That. However, if she does, it’s unlikely that she’ll share scenes with Sarah Jessica Parker.
