Sister Wives Kody Brown didn’t believe the moment Christine told him that she would leave their polygamous marriage of 26 years forever. He started taking the 50-year-old seriously when she refused to mark their wedding anniversary on social media.
On this week’s episode of the show, Kody recalled when she wasn’t going to change her mind. It happened in March last year when he asked her if they’ll be posting anything on social media. According to Kody, it was just to protect the kids and test her resolve to the issue. She responded “negative” and that was when it hit him that she was actually serious.
Kody Brown wanted to keep testing to see if Christine was going to leave him. In his words:
“I think I want to keep testing it though. You never know when she’s just going to realize that the life she’s looking to create somewhere else isn’t going to be any better than what she’s had or got.”
She responded via Instagram by announcing that her marriage to him was over last November.
Christine Brown Left Kody Brown Because They Grew Apart
In November last year, Sister Wives Christine Brown took to social media to announce that she’ll leave Kody because they grew apart. However, she pointed out that they’ll continue to be a part of each other’s lives.
Kody was unhappy with her decision to leave their marriage of 25 years. But he was happy they enjoyed the time together. He also pointed out that he had great admiration for her. He added that even though they were going their separate ways they’ll remain committed parents.
The ex-couple share Paedon, 23, and daughters Aspyn, 26, Mykelti, 25, Gwendlyn, 20, Ysabel, 18, and Truely, 11.
One of the many factors that led to the breakdown of their marriage was Kody’s decision to withhold intimacy. Kody Brown wished he handled things differently before Christine decided to leave.
Sister Wives airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC!
