On April 1st, a website announced that Junichi Yamakawa’s Kuso Miso Technique manga has been green-lit for an official anime adaptation OVA. Anime Tokyo will be producing the Shin Yaranai ka original video anime. Despite the date, the legitimacy of the announcement has been confirmed by Comic Natalie and Dengeki Online. The staff intends to launch a crowdfunding campaign for the anime in early summer. This will confirm its production aimed as an all-ages title.
The anime adaptation of Kuso Miso Technique will expand on the original one-shot manga and include elements from Yamakawa’s other works. This will also be combined with its unique story elements. The story revolves around Masaki Michishita. He is an ordinary prep school student who one day encounters the exceedingly handsome auto mechanic Takakazu Abe in a park while rushing to the bathroom.
Kuso Miso Technique Plans OVA Release: April Fools or Not?
Pierre Itō, the director of the planned anime, personally discovered the manga on the online Futaba Channel forum. This happened during his junior high school years. He created and posted an unofficial live-action fan video on YouTube under the pseudonym “Yoshirō Sasaki” and dressed up in Abe’s blue outfit to attend his high school culture festival and Comic Market.
The voice cast for the anime includes “Yoshirō Sasaki,” voicing Takakazu Abe and Sorate as Masaki Michishita. The script is being written by “Ikansoku,” and Taiten Kawakami is collaborating on the scenario. The dialogue line “Yaranai ka” from the manga became an internet meme in the early 2000s.
The project’s legitimacy has been confirmed by reputable sources despite the announcement being on April Fool’s day. The adaptation will include crowdfunding in early summer, and Anime Tokyo plans to make it an all-ages title. With the director of the anime being a fan of the manga, it is expected to be a faithful adaptation with unique elements from the creator’s other works.
