Horimiya: New Anime Stories of Love and Friendship in July
Currently, Yen Press publishes the manga in English. The story is described as;
“Hori-san to Miyamura-kun” or “Horimiya” is a manga series created by HERO and illustrated by Daisuke Hagiwara. The story follows two high school students, Kyouko Hori and Izumi Miyamura, who have seemingly opposite personalities and backgrounds.
Kyouko Hori is a popular and attractive girl who is well-liked by her classmates, but she has a secret life outside of school where she takes care of her younger brother and does housework, leaving her with little time for socializing. On the other hand, Izumi Miyamura is a quiet and reserved boy who is often seen wearing glasses and long-sleeved shirts to hide his tattoos and piercings.
One day, Hori and Miyamura unexpectedly cross paths outside of school, and they quickly become friends after discovering each other’s secrets. As they spend more time together, they begin to develop feelings for each other, and their relationship deepens, leading to various challenges and obstacles along the way.
Daisuke Hagiwara launched the Horimiya manga in Square Enix‘s Monthly G Fantasy magazine in 2011 as an adaptation of HERO‘s Hori-san to Miyamura-kun four-panel school comedy manga and ended it in March 2021.
Currently, Horimiya is available to stream on Crunchyroll and Funimation. The new Horimiya-piece- anime will be available in July 2023. It is currently unknown what platform the new Horimiya anime will be available on.
