LAI Games are in the midst of development for their upcoming VR social title Arcade Legend. Coming soon in 2022, players will be able to customize and share their arcades in a dual release for Steam VR and Oculus.

In Arcade Legend, Everyone is Invited to the Fun

Arcade Legend is both a simulator and a building-type title. Players are tasked with cleaning up and restoring an old arcade center. With the area as your playing field, you’ll be free to customize and organize your own arcade with a selection of different games. These will feature officially licensed games that are open-to-play for you and your friends. Additionally, you can accumulate Reputation to unlock new games.

Be social, or be competitive. The game will include global leaderboards to see who’s topping the charts. Or, you can always just visit a buddy’s entertainment center to see what they have set up. More games will be added in the future with free and paid DLC. LAI Games is continuously securing licensing deals with arcade manufacturers to bring more in coin-op experiences.

Who are LAI Games?

LAI Games specializes in arcade game production and distribution. The company was born in Australia and has been producing arcade and amusement games for 50 years. Now, they’re bringing their talents and expertise to the VR world with Arcade Legend. Shannon Perell, LAI Games’ Head of Product Development and Creative Director, shared her view on bringing Arcade Legend to VR:

As arcade game developers, it’s our goal to deliver accessible, rewarding and unique games and experiences to players heading out for a good time with their friends and families. Arcades are such a special and unique social space, and we’re so excited to have the opportunity to bring an authentic arcade gaming experience to both Steam and Oculus Quest.”
