You’re supposed to have fun when you go out with friends, no matter your race. But a White group in Las Vegas didn’t like that a group of Latina women happened to be dining at the same restaurant. The group, made up of both men and women, decided it would be funny to sing loudly, “ICE ICE Baby,” before shouting, “Get these illegal immigrants out of here.”
Naturally, a confrontation broke out between the two groups. When confronted, one of the women from the White group tried to deny what had happened. Meanwhile, a man in the group doubled down and showed no remorse. Instead, he launched into a tirade, saying things like, “What’s ignorant is thinking that your feelings have meaning in a public space. Your feelings don’t give a f**k,” and, “They hear words and they go, oh my god, I gotta be angry.” He continued, dismissing the women by adding, “It’s embarrassing that you think your voice has any type of anything.”
Ironically, much of what he said didn’t even make sense; some of his statements barely resembled proper English.
The racism toward the Latin Las Vegas group continued as the guy also told them, “So go be a citizen over there and don’t worry about me.” He even had the audacity to tell the woman not to call their table “The White table.” Oh, so now you are upset that race is being brought up? I thought you were okay with it. A woman from the White group did try to apologize, but she insisted that they didn’t do anything wrong. I mean, several women from the table heard you. Plus, the way the man is acting shows that he is the kind of person to behave this way.
The woman also tries to justify their song choice and words by saying, “My parents are immigrants from Italy.” So, shouldn’t you be afraid of ICE as well, instead of singing about them? She also made sure to mention that her group didn’t vote for Trump. Well, I honestly don’t believe that. Usually, Trump supporters are the ones who behave like this.
What Happened Next
As the confrontation went on, the restaurant’s owner intervened and tried to de-escalate the situation. The man, however, wasn’t planning on apologizing anytime soon. He and others with him called the Latin women “undocumented.” Thankfully, the restaurant ended up kicking the White group out, but the obnoxious man didn’t take that well. He flipped the group off and then called them derogatory names, along with saying that they are “ugly, broke, and uneducated.” How are they broke if both groups are eating at the same restaurant?
The worst part of this entire situation is that the racist guy threatened the Las Vegas women by saying he would wait for them outside. Why would a man say this to a group of 20 women? So he isn’t just a racist, but he is also dangerous. He and his group ended up waiting for twenty minutes for the Latin women to come out. It was then that the restaurant staff called the police, and the group ended up trespassing. The only good part here is that they were kicked out of the establishment. You don’t want to imagine what could have happened if the woman had gone outside while the man and his friends were still there.
People Reacting to the Racism Faced by the Latin Las Vegas Group
People were livid about what the Latin Las Vegas group went through. They found it both immature and racist that the White group was signing ICE ICE baby. Since racism toward immigrants usually comes from Trump supporters, one person wrote, “trump made people feel so comfortable being racist.” Another person wished that the women would respond in their own way. “And that’s when yall start singing SWEET HOME ALABAMA,” they said. That would have probably made the man even more insane. Someone else shared the same opinion as they wrote, “they look inbred, so let’s pick a struggle.” It’s not surprising that people mocked them for the way they behaved.
Unfortunately for the racist White group, online users quickly doxxed them. People first exposed the annoying guy by posting his social media accounts and where he works. It’s not clear if he faced any consequences, but it won’t be surprising since his workplace received a lot of complaints. Racists can’t get away with their racism. Aside from the doxxing, one person believed that racists are obsessed with Latin people. “Racists are so weird cus how do you ‘hate’ a group but you think about them constantly,” they wrote. Another person agreed as they said, “Just imagine how obsessed they gotta be that they put all the attention on yall.” At this point, all this racism is getting tiring. People should grow up.
