League of Legends is giving one of their older and outdated characters a breath of fresh air with a new gameplay update. This time, the devs of League of Legends have set their crosshairs on Skarner, the rift’s most legendary scorpion with one of the most boring designs in the game. Skarner was high on many players’ lists for a major rework, and now, fans of this mighty scorpion will get to enjoy a stronger and more modern character.
League of Legends’ Skarner Gets a Rework
Skarner is traditionally a bruiser or tank in League of Legends, and Riot Games aimed to preserve Skarner’s identity through this rework. Here are his new abilities that you can expect to use when his rework drops:
- Skarner’s Passive now allows all his attacks to apply “Quaking” to enemies. Enemies with three stacks of “Quaking” will take Max HP% damage over time.
- Skarner’s Q Ability – Shattered Earth / Upheaval, causes Skarner to rip a rock out of the ground and empower his next three attacks, granting him more damage, range, and attack speed. Every third attack will slow and deal bonus damage. You can recast this ability to end this effect early and throw the rock as a projectile, which deals damage and applies a slow.
- Skarner’s W Ability – Seiusmic Bastion, gives Skarner a shield and causes him to slam into the ground, which releases a shockwave that damages and slows nearby enemies.
- Skarner’s E Ability – Ixtal’s Impact, causes Skarner to charge forward, ignore terrain, and grab an enemy champion or monster. He’ll carry them a short way and stun them if he collides into terrain.
- Skarner’s Ultimate – Impale, will impale three enemy champions, damaging and suppressing them. It’s similar to his old Ultimate, except it seems to last a shorter amount of time and he can carry three targets instead of one.
