Just as cool as the day we met him

If we all had made a bet about Leon Kennedy making his way to Resident Evil Requiem, we would have won; alas, we didn’t, but we still won, as our favorite Resident Evil hero is coming to the new entry, looking better than ever. That is right, the man with the deadliest kicks and suplexes will be another playable character alongside Grace. And that’s not all, because our hero, despite his age and gray hair, is still showing that he’s among the best agents out there, capable of eliminating whatever bio-weapon the remnants of Umbrella throw at us.

Leon S. Kennedy Returns for Resident Evil Requiem

This one is for all Resident Evil fans…we’re excited to dive deeper into Grace Ashcroft’s story in Resident Evil Requiem! #TheGameAwards @re_games @capcomusa_ pic.twitter.com/YjoxKYFToK

Many people called us believers crazy, but look who’s wrong now. After many months of speculation about Leon’s return to Resident Evil Requiem, it isn’t a tinfoil hat theory anymore. According to the most recent trailer, Leon S. Kennedy will return for one more rodeo to help Grace Ashcroft.

While the overarching plot of Resident Evil Requiem is still a bit of a mystery, the fact that Leon is back means that things aren’t that great, so it was only a matter of time to bring out the big guns. You can actually see those guns in action, as Leon returns with some of his iconic kicks, gunplay, and finally the ability to steal chainsaws from other enemies because, well, it was about time for Leon to give zombies a taste of their own medicine.

With the release date of Resident Evil Requiem coming closer, we can expect to get more information about the game soon. Also, if history has taught us anything, we’ll likely get a demo for Requiem soon, or at least we hope so. Capcom has been great at letting players try their new titles before release, so we can’t wait to try this one.

If you haven’t, you can pre-order Resident Evil Requiem right now for your preferred platform before it launches on February 26, 2026.
