Listings For Resident Evil 9 And Other Potential Remakes Appear Online

Recently, new listings for Resident Evil 9: Revenant Shadows, Code Veronica, and Resident Evil 5 have appeared online. This is quite a surprise for fans of the legendary survival horror franchise. After the successful remake of Resident Evil 4, many wondered where Capcom would take the series. Well, if these listings turn out to be true, it seems we’re getting a new game and remakes for some beloved entries of this zombie-riddled universe.

The listings are up on Play Asia’s website. You can visit Resident Evil 9: Revenant Shadow‘s listing here. The official description reads, “Resident Evil 9: Revenant Shadows is the latest installment in the iconic survival horror series by Capcom. This game continues the chilling legacy with a fresh story, new characters, and the return of familiar faces.” Furthermore, the preliminary cover art shows two figures. Fans with keen eyes might identify them as Leon Kennedy and either Rebecca Chambers or Jill Valentine. Although, they could be new characters as well. Still, with Jill’s involvement in the last CGI film, seeing her in a mainline game again would make sense.

Furthermore, the website also shows listings for Resident Evil 5 on PS5. It mentions the following: “New technology developed specifically for the game, as well as incredible changes to both the gameplay and world of Resident Evil.” And for old-school fans, there’s also a listing for Resident Evil: Code Veronica for PS5, pointing at a potential remake as well. However, nothing has been confirmed and these last two games could only be a remaster of sorts, a port, or something else, so let’s put our expectations in check.

Still, as the avid Resident Evil fan that I am, I can’t tell you how excited I am. The last mainline entry, Resident Evil: Village, was a terrific game that closed Ethan Winters’ chapter. Now, I’m eager to see what will happen with the series and where Capcom will take us this time. Hopefully, we’ll get new announcements in the upcoming gaming events of the year.
