Madonna is active on social media, and her posts give fans a glimpse into her life. The most recent post she shared with her 19.8 million Instagram followers showed her rocking a black lace outfit with a veil. Is she getting married to her much younger man, Akeem Morris? Nope. This was a moment of fashion, and the “Like A Virgin” singer celebrated Dolce & Gabbana in her post.
In addition to posing with designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana for a photo, Madonna also mentioned them in the caption. “Ciao Milano Thank You @dolcegabbana for all the Love,” she wrote. The fashion house’s headquarters are located in Milan. However, not everyone has been impressed by the photos.
Among the negative reactions was criticism of Madonna for wearing Dolce&Gabbana designs. “Is fashion so important that you must pander to designers that are against marriage equality and gay couples having children? Are clothes better than human rights?,” a comment reads. Domenico Dolce has previously made controversial comments about gay adoption and conceiving via IVF.
In 2015, the designer gave an interview to Italian magazine Panorama. “We oppose gay adoptions. The only family is the traditional one,” he said. He also referred to children conceived via IVF as “children of chemistry, synthetic children. Rented uterus, semen chosen from a catalogue.” He later apologized for his remarks.
Madonna Faces Backlash for Her New Instagram Post
Other criticism for Madonna was focused on her appearance. “ALL COMPLTELY FAKE!!! SUPERFICIAL!! WHY U CAN AGE GRACEFULLY?? YOU ARE GIVEN THE WRONG MESSAGES TO THE WORLD… I USEED TO LOVE YOU BUT NOW I PITY YOU …,” a nasty comment reads. Another shared similar thoughts, “The reason she is wearing a vail, so people can’t see how she really looks like!.”
Luckily, not all comments have been negative, and the vast majority have been incredibly positive. Regardless of how you feel about Madonna and the way she acts and dresses for her age, no one ever has a right to comment on someone’s body and their choices.
