It’s incredible to see how graphic novels or manga with a certain popularity get the chance to become an anime adaptation. I’m referring to Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines, in which A-1 Pictures took the endeavor of adapting it. It is a story with a lot of humor, and it is easy to identify yourself with some of the characters, mainly Yanami or Komari. The anime of Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines gained a lot of popularity, being one of the best anime of the summer season 2024, and for that reason, its director planned a surprise for its final episode. Spoiler alert: even source material fans will end shocked by this grand finale.
As a way to thank the fans for a successful 12-episode run, novel author Takibi Amamori decided to make the 12th episode completely original for the anime. The final episode of Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines will be unedited and without any supporting material from the novel. Also, since it is by the same author, we can certainly expect a big ending or some other misunderstanding Nukumizu will have to fix.
Many are nervous about the long-awaited announcement of a possible second season or if this original episode will change the novel’s ending. Although, so far, A-1 Pictures adapted up to Volume 3 of the light novel, this last episode may be more of a bridge to a second season starting the adaptation of Volume 4. I am excited about the idea of an original final episode, especially because the studio recommends we stay until the last minute for the big surprise that Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines has prepared for everyone. What will it be? That’s still a mystery, but it doesn’t matter; I’ll watch those credits as if my life depended on it.
