The next iteration of the Mario Tennis series, Mario Tennis Ultra Smash for Wii U, is now available on the Nintendo e-shop in North America and Canada for “pre-load.” Pre-loading is essentially reserving a copy of the digital version. The game will be released on November 20, 2015, in all regions, and the NA price will be the standard $49.99. MTUS requires a mere 888 Megabytes to download. Players will, of course, still have to wait for the game to actually be released on November 20 before they can play it, but at least they’ll be able to start minutes after it does, right?

Players can expect a multitude of returning characters and a few new ones. SPOILER ALERT: Rosalina joins the lineup along with Toadette and… oh look, Sprixie. END SPOILER.

If the character exists in the Mario universe, their Amiibo will probably work.

As with many other games, Ultra Smash also features Amiibo support similar to how the figures operate in Smash Bros. Amiibos can be trained and strengthened. But this time, players can take their Amiibos with them online for team matches. It looks like certain Smash series and Mario series can be used, plus a few others. Nintendo’s website has the list of compatible Amiibos.
