The Marlon Wayans paternity suit case just got more interesting. A few days ago, fans were stunned when Brittany Moreland filed a paternity lawsuit, alleging that the actor was the father of her one-year-old child, Axl July. In the filing, she asked for legal and physical custody of the child and for Wayans to get only visitation rights. Moreland also sought child support as she revealed Wayans made a huge sum monthly. Amid the controversy, the Little Man star has finally spoken out, and it turns out Marlon Wayans does have a one-year-old child.
Inside Marlon Wayans’s Paternity Suit
Marlon Wayans is embroiled in a paternity suit, which might not be resolved soon. Recently, Moreland filed a petition to establish the stand-up comedian as the father of her one-year-old child. In the documents, Moreland requests that Wayans covers her legal fees and reasonable expenses of pregnancy and birth. She further alleges that the star rakes in $200,000 monthly, hence the need for her to receive financial support. Moreland also claims her monthly expenses total $21,000. It includes $5,000 for rent and $9,000 for child care, groceries, and related living expenses.
Marlon Wayans Talks About the Paternity Suit
In the wake of the paternity lawsuit, Wayans has addressed the situation, shedding light on his perspective on the case. In an exclusive chat with The Shade Room, the 51-year-old said:
“It is a classic case of a good, loving, responsible father shelling out over $18,000 per month for a one-year-old, and an entitled woman decides she wants more.”
He further described himself as a good man with a good heart, saying he would not be used or discredited. Next, Marlon Wayans admitted the one-year-old child was his, noting that he chose to keep her away from the spotlight due to toxicity.
“The baby isn’t a secret. The mama has been posted. But I chose to keep the baby’s private life private. Ain’t nobody’s business. Social media is toxic and dangerous, and I’d like to keep her peace,” he said.
Wayans clarified that he would not agree to receive only visitation rights. The actor said he couldn’t pay a huge sum monthly, only to be called a “visitor.” According to him, it was delusional, and his lawyers and God would prove it. In all, it remains to be seen how the case will end. However, if Wayans’s paternity is established, it will be his third child — he shares two children with his ex-girlfriend Anglea Zachary.
