The 10-year anniversary celebrations for Marvel Contest of Champions aren’t over yet, and to continue with them, Kabam has unveiled Isophyne as their new character joining the battle. However, this isn’t a character that’s been around for years in comic books or other media. The studio created another original champion, and many will enjoy adding her to their team. Plus, the gameplay behind Isophyne will shake things up and make her one of the best champions you can bring to the Battlerealm.

10 years strong, and we’re just getting started! 🎉

If you thought Isophyne would join Marvel Contest of Champions out of the blue, that’s not the case. This new champion has a rich lore behind her arrival. After being blown to pieces by the explosion caused by the Elders, she spent time piecing herself together until her big debut. Like other original characters, you can expect Isophyne to get a lot of attention as the game’s updates come. However, lore isn’t the only thing Isophyne is bringing.

This new champion will feature the new mechanic known as Fractured Powerbar. Veterans of the game should already be familiar with how Specials work. After accumulating a certain amount of power in your Powerbar, you can cast any of the skills. However, Isophyne works differently. Instead of casting Special three and then waiting to cast Special 1, she can mix things up. She can cast three Special one skills back to back or mix some abilities up if she has enough power. This is a game-changer for many and will indeed create some exciting combos during encounters.
