After weeks of rumors, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 and 2 have officially been announced for PS4, X1, and PC. And they’re coming sooner than you might think.
Announced during the Marvel games panel at San Diego Comic-Con, the games will be ports of the previous versions, originally released for the PS2, PS3, Xbox and Xbox 360. Developed by Raven Software, the Ultimate Alliance series are action role-playing games featuring the most popular and the most obscure characters from the Marvel universe.
Fans can expect some graphical enhancements, performance adjustments, and tweaks to the UI so that the games will run smoothly on the new hardware. As for the gameplay, it will remain the same.
The Ultimate Alliance franchise is a broader-scope version of the X-Men: Legends series. In the first, players will play throughout an original story that has the heroes band together to stop Loki, Dr. Doom, and a few other of the biggest baddies from Marvel. While the sequel is a general retelling of the Civil War and Secret Wars comic stories.
In the game, players will assemble a group consisting of 4 characters, and must make their way through hordes of enemies, usually facing off against a boss at the end of the stage.
Re-release producer Mike Jones said to Marvel.com on the topic of the future of the franchise “Following the footsteps of a proud Marvel tradition, I’ll say: Anything is possible, True Believers!”
Both games will available July 26, they will cost $39.99 separately or $59.99 as a bundle. Thoughts? Questions? Think we’ve missed something? Let us know in the comments section below, and remember to stay tuned to The Nerd Stash for all your comic, movie and gaming news!
