A masked individual in California, who has been described by some online as a “leftist,” was filmed allegedly throwing an unknown liquid at a MAGA influencer during an encounter that was recorded and shared on social media.
Ryley Niemi is known for his political activism and for hosting public debates. He was reportedly hosting a debate at the University of California, Santa Cruz when the alleged incident took place.
A crowd of people, who online users called “leftists,” gathered around the influencer’s table to oppose his presence at the university. During the gathering, a masked individual reportedly approached Niemi while holding a bucket.
The masked individual then approached Niemi and threw the unknown black liquid from the bucket at him. Niemi was immediately covered in the substance, and the table and surrounding ground were also splashed with the liquid.
After the incident, parts of the crowd opposing Niemi reacted by clapping and cheering. The masked individual then ran away from the scene, while Niemi appeared to run after him in an attempt to catch up. Several people from the crowd could also be heard yelling after him, including insults such as “[expletive] you.”
Niemi later alleged that he experienced vision problems for several hours after the incident, saying the unknown liquid got into his eyes. He also claimed that the vision in one of his eyes remained blurry afterward. At this time, there has been no further confirmed information about the attack, and the masked individual involved has not been publicly identified.
