A mistake on the Xbox store caught by Polish site XGP may show that Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is coming to Xbox Game Pass soon.
Game developers Bioware released Mass Effect: Legendary Edition on May 14, 2021, as a compilation of the trilogy Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3. Incredibly well-received, EA said the games’ sales were “well above” expectations. The Legendary Edition is currently available on EA Play Pro but not on Xbox Game Pass or its ultimate tier. However, that could change soon.
Listings on the official Xbox Store briefly displayed the remastered trilogy with a Game Pass badge this past Friday. Of course, this could have been done in error. Also on Friday, CD Projekt denied its game Cyberpunk 2077 had any plans to go to Xbox Game Pass after footage of the game was seen in a marketing video for the subscription service. Only time will tell if either of these games shows up on the subscription service. If the Game Pass badge has indeed been added to Mass Effect: Legendary Edition and is just not released yet, it could be coming soon. Possibly coming to the Xbox Game Pass December selection.
EA’s new releases are customarily added to EA Play within a year. As the service is bundled with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, the game could be coming to the service regardless. If the past is anything to go by, that Game Pass badge could become very real very soon.
Although Game Pass would be the most cost-effective way to procure the game for most players, Black Friday sales are also on the horizon. Thanksgiving is just around the corner and that is often coupled with one of the best times of the year to buy games. It might be a good time to keep a lookout for Mass Effect: Legendary Edition whether it comes to Game Pass or not.
