Matt Damon and Jimmy Kimmel are not ready to bury the hatchet and reach an agreement. Matt and Jimmy’s feud continued on the red carpet of the new movie, Air premiere on Monday. The pair refused to keep things civil as they called each other out. Get the details.
Matt Damon And Jimmy Kimmel Continue Long-Term Feud
The heated “feud” between Matt Damon and Jimmy Kimmel continues and doesn’t look like it will end soon. Matt walked the red carpet at the premiere of his new film Air, at the Regency Village Theatre on Monday.
Matt and Jimmy’s feud made up for the night’s interview with the duo. The Interstellar star spoke with ET about his long-standing (supposedly) bitter rivalry with the late-night talk show host.
When asked if he’d ever be interested in burying the hatchet and just moving on, Damon exclaimed, “No, no, he’s an a**hole. Why would I ever do that?”
“He’s a terrible human being,” Matt stressed. “He’s a terrible human being. He’s a demonstrably bad man.”
Jimmy walked the carpet behind Matt, and the actor took the opportunity to take a jab at Jimmy.
“Hey! I’d love to take a picture with you, but we ran out of time!” Matt yelled to Jimmy. His words were a mockery of the long-going gag on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Jimmy typically apologizes to Matt at the end of every episode for running out of time. Hence, he would not be able to have him on.
Jimmy Kimmel Calls Matt Damon A Cocaine Bear
Jimmy also kept up the hilarious pretense of seething contempt for his longtime friend and responded to the jabs.
When Jimmy got up to the outlet, he simply said, “You know, I don’t know who that was, but yeah, I heard him. He was loud.”
Jimmy also threw his own jab at Matt. According to Jimmy, Matt definitely “was the cocaine bear” at this year’s Oscars. The reference was to the man inside the infamous bear costume, despite Matt staunchly denying this claim.
Did he say he wasn’t the bear?” Jimmy asked. “He was the bear. And totally full of cocaine,” he joked.
The outlet also asked if they might ever reconcile on his show or have an episode totally devoted to Matt. However, Jimmy immediately threw out the idea, sharing, “I just can’t imagine it happening. I really can’t. I think we have Ben [Affleck] on tomorrow, so we’ll have that, but that will be as close as we get.”
It’s heartwarming to see Matt Damon and Jimmy Kimmel’s friendship continue to grow despite years of jabs and fake feuds. Hopefully, the two will continue to be friends forever.
