A New York woman was burned by DoorDash after she made a Chinese food delivery. After receiving a completely wrong order, she asked for a refund due to her dissatisfaction. She was alarmed by what happened next, and DoorDash’s refusal to refund.
TikToker @word2yamuthuh shows her audience what happened to her after making a DoorDash order from a local Chinese restaurant over the weekend. She shows a picture of the listing for her food item on the restaurant’s website, complete with Bok Choy, broccoli, pork, peanuts, noodles, and all types of other vegetables. However, what she received was completely different. She shows a picture of her order, which only has noodles, mushrooms, and a few sliced carrots. There also appeared to be no meat included in the order.
This TikToker was shocked by what she received, confused why they included things that weren’t even in the initial order. It’s like they gave her a completely different meal from what she ordered through their app. She immediately submitted a refund request for receiving the wrong order. However, she notes that it’s been “under review for two days.” She decided to give DoorDash a call instead.
When she spoke with DoorDash on the phone, they allegedly told her they couldn’t give her a refund. Why? According to them, it’s “because I’ve submitted refund requests in the past.” Apparently, you can’t refund several orders, even if they’re wrong, claims the TikToker. She asks, “What?! Sorry that the places that I’ve ordered from have sent me the wrong [expletive].” In shock, she explains that it isn’t her “fault” that the restaurants keep sending her bad orders and she needs to ask for refunds. Now, she says she’s out $17 for a wrong order from DoorDash, once again.
Commenters immediately rushed in to share their opinions and reactions on her TikTok video. One commenter stated, “Maybe let’s just stop DoorDashing.” Another shared, “I got rid of DoorDash when they refused to refund me for food I didn’t get.” Another commenter suggested, “Report them to the FCC and BBB. This is highly illegal. False advertisement is not something they take lightly.”
Getting the wrong food is frustrating enough, but being denied a refund makes the whole experience even harder to swallow. Judging by the comments, she’s certainly not the only one who’s had a bone to pick with DoorDash.
