A Florida woman claims that she’s received complaints from a Karen neighbor down the street because her Halloween decorations were too scary. Alexis claims that in three years of decorating, she hasn’t had a single complaint until now: “I finally got my first complaint.” Her TikTok video explaining the alleged encounter has over 519,000 views, over 59,000 likes, and over 1,600 comments.
Alexis is a tattoo artist in Orlando who uses her creativity to keep the spooky spirit alive in her neighborhood. She explains, “We make all of these from scratch.” She is referring to her scary clown carnival, which is comprised of various booths. Each has its own clown and theme. From selling blood ice cream to hot eyes, the clown booths have been a hit. Alexis claims that her decorations and her Halloween activities have brought more kids trick-or-treating into their neighborhood.
However, Alexis says things took a turn when a neighbor stopped by. She explains, “I knew something was off because she was walking in the street and she wouldn’t walk on our sidewalk.” Compared to other houses, she insists her decorations are less gory. The woman claims that her daughter is scared by the decorations. Alexis lives in a corner house, and her neighbor lives down the street. She explains that her neighbor could walk the other way and never see her house. The woman allegedly tried talking Alexis into taking everything down. Alexis refuses to budge, stating, “You’re not going to be able to control everyone’s houses and what they put up.” She argues that children should learn to adapt to the world and that her haunted house brings more trick-or-treaters to the community.
People Love Creepy Florida Decorations
Meanwhile, many suggest Alexis should double down on the decorations. One person states, “I think you should purposely make it scarier now.” Another person says, “100% agree with what you said. This world [is] not gonna adapt to you; you adapt to it.” A third person says that their son is terrified of decorations; however, “I remind him it’s fake, and then we just don’t go near those houses for Halloween… super simple.”
Others love that she’s keeping the spooky season alive. One applauds her: “I love that you do this! People don’t decorate like they used to. Keep it up, girl!” Another adds, “People are so self-entitled. It’s your own property. U do what you want to do with it!” One of her neighbors says they look forward to the decorations every year: “We always drive by to make sure your decorations are up! We love it!”
This year, Alexis is handing out squishies to the kids, and as always, everything is free.
