The Voice 2023 season 23’s Top Five contestants were voted in by fans after their Monday night performance for the show’s semifinals. Eight contestants had to battle out for a spot and a chance to go to the finals. Expectedly, they had all prepared and mastered the lessons from their experienced coaches. The overall result was having to blend skills acquired since the beginning of the show, to what they had naturally. The night’s performance bore an aura of light and hope as it swung in different genres. Viewers were treated to unmatched soulful singing, country style, and pop star singing. This year’s The Voice worked magic on the already talented singers. At the same time, the coaches honed their skills and they are now ready to claim their trophy at the end of the show which happens to be Blake Shelton‘s last season.
The Voice Top Five Worthy Enough by Fans To Fight for the Winner Position this 23rd Season
The four coaches’ OGs Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, and newbies Niall Horan and Chance the Rapper are all gunning for the grand prize. Since the beginning of the season, they have had their eyes on the ball—grooming their team while they steal some singers. During The Voice 2023 semifinals, the eight contestants were given the choice of selecting their own songs. This was also the first-night live show where fans had the chance to vote their choice.
Those chosen by fans during The Voice 2023 semifinals included NOIVAS, Gina Miles, Sorelle, Grace West, and D.Smooth. Meanwhile, Holly Brand, Ray Uriel, and Ryley Tate Wilson were sent home.
The Top Five Were All Applauded by The Voice 2023 Coaches
Performance-wise, they wowed the judges and their audience, but the best had to be chosen in the end as reported by ET. Gina Miles did justice to Kodaline’s All I Want. Niall commended her confidence and how far she had come. He went on to plead for votes from the viewers. Chance was swept off his feet after seeing Sorelle hit the right keys for Alicia Keys’ Falling. Chance said it was an “amazing performance.”
Singing Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran made Kelly Clarkson proud, and she gushed over D.Smooth. For the coach, it was an awe-inspiring moment that brought on technicality and originality. D. Smooth’s singing sounded genuine and was from his heart.
Grace West rendered an incredible country-style tune following the words from ‘Til I Can Make It on My Own by Tammy Wynette. Her coach, Blake recognized a fellow country crooner, and he convinced her that she broke a record. He said
“There’s a reason no one has sung that song on the show. You can’t do it, but you just did it. I will be stunned if you don’t make the finale. You are the real deal.”
NOVIAS from team Blake poured himself into Adele’s Skyfall. His rendition of the emotional song earned him a nod from his coach. Shelton confirmed that he is one of the loved contestants on the show. Both coach and singer bonded over their past losses during rehearsals.
The Voice 2023 SemiFinals Will Be Judge Blake’s Last Semifinals
Blake Shelton has been the longest-serving judge on the show. The country music legend started out with the first season and has remained a constant for twenty-three seasons. Throughout his time on the show, he cupped the most victories including eight wins. This included seasons 2, 3, 4, 7, 11, 13, 18, and 20. On the same show, he made viewers, singers, and judges all feel comfortable.
Fans would recall his constant spat with Adam Levine, a former judge. The pair always joked to be rivals onscreen, yet they convinced each other that they had a formidable bromance. He also found love with former judge Gwen Stefani.
This season has not been different either. He shares an envious relationship with all the judges, newbies, and OG. When asked about his departure, Clarkson admitted that she hurriedly texted Shelton to know if he was up for a final season. She wanted to be present at his departure.
Clarkson also talked about how “super cool” it would be for him to take home the prize in his last season. However, the judge is not willing to compromise her place as a winner because of her emotions. Now that The Voice Top Five has been picked, fans can be certain Clarkson has not hit the breaks, and is ready to win.
Former Judges of The Voice — Who Won and Who Didn’t
If Shelton wins The Voice 2023, it would be his ninth time, and still, he would be crowned the winner with the most. But if among the Top Five contestants, team Clarkson bags the trophy for this year’s The Voice, it would be her fifth time. Levine comes in third with three wins before his departure.
The likes of Alicia Keys, Stefani, Usher, Pharrell Williams, John Legend, and Christina Aguilera all won once. While some judges have more than one victory on the show, others have none. Grammy winner Ariana Grande recorded zero wins. She stayed on The Voice For only one season. Likewise Nick Jonas, Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Hudson, Shakira, and CeeLo Green.
