Horror fans can be anyone, even the world’s biggest icons. Megan Thee Stallion is Shudder’s latest guest curator, giving us three horror movies to check out. She shows her taste with three distinctively different films that go back through the history of the genre.
The superstar recommends Night of the Living Dead, Ring (1998), and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. For fans who want scares and bloodshed, these will be a great rewatch or an education in the genre for people who may not be as experienced in some of the classics.
Megan Thee Stallion’s Shudder Guest Curator Continues to Show Her Love for Horror Movies
Every month, the horror-themed streaming service has various guests to recommend movies. Alongside the Grammy winner are Freaky writer Michael Kennedy, Perpetrator and V/H/S/94 director Jennifer Reeder, and HardLore podcast hosts, who are this month’s guests. Between each of them, a diverse roster of recommendations are made. Some of these include the horror-fantasy film Tigers Are Not Afraid, the supernatural horror film Hell House, and the classic Hellraiser.
It is not surprising to see Megan Thee Stallion is into horror movies. She has never been shy about showing her excitement for the genre. Since 2020, she has been working on a screenplay for a horror feature, which she has been tight-lipped about as the project brews. She also previously told Billboard how it is her favorite genre and Evil Dead is her favorite horror movie. The only surprising part was that years later, when she got her guest spot for Shudder, she did not recommend Sam Raimi’s gruesome cult classic.
