Meghan Markle’s Dad Is “Frankly Dead” to Her and Prince Harry: “They Would Prefer Him to Disappear”

Like father but not like daughter

Prince Harry isn’t the only one with daddy issues with King Charles; Meghan Markle has “no compassion” for her father, Thomas Markle, even though he “deserves it,” says royal biographer Tom Bower. Speaking to The Sun, Bower reveals that not only has The Royal Family abandoned Thomas completely, but the Duke and Duchess of Sussex also “don’t seem to give two hoots whether he’s frankly alive or dead anymore, and probably, they would prefer him to disappear.”

The expert claims that Meghan Markle’s dad is “a very decent man, very hard-working and a wonderful father.” However, the American Riviera Orchard entrepreneur thinks otherwise, saying in a 2021 interview with Oprah that she felt “betrayed” by her dad. Thomas does have his share of mistakes, such as lying or not walking his daughter down the aisle on her wedding day.

Now, at 80 years old and having suffered two heart attacks, Mr. Markle might not have much time left to reconcile with Meghan, especially if she’s not willing. Bower tells the outlet:

“They have no compassion for a man who deserves it and, unfortunately, is going to get worse as he gets older and sicker. When he had his stroke, Meghan left her home in Montecito but didn’t go down to Mexico to see her father but went to the site of a school shooting instead. It was just all, of course, for the cameras.”

Never forget that Meghan called her father a gem on social media, 7 years ago to the day (well, minus one). That she, Doria and Thomas celebrated Thanksgiving together. And that shortly after that, she plotted to erase him from her life. Just because he didn't fit her brand and narrative…

How true is the final statement in the quote, as Meghan called her dad a “gem” back in 2016 before proceeding to later “erase him from her life because he didn’t fit her brand and narrative.” The top comment for this Reddit r/SaintMeghanMarkle post made an excellent point about the Duchess of Sussex’s true character:

“It just shows the depth of her hypocrisy, doesn’t it? Either he is someone you loved and then dumped or someone you didn’t care for but constructed this narrative for your own purposes. She should get in touch with him while she still can.”

This situation is similar for Prince Harry, as “time is ticking” for his chance to restore his relationship with his father, King Charles, who’s battling cancer. However, such a reconciliation is seemingly impossible, with how large the rift has grown, not to mention Charles, William, and Harry’s anger issues.
