At the June 2023 Nintendo Direct, it was revealed that the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Volume 1, the collection of the first three games in the series, is coming to the Switch alongside the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 24. The package will cost $60, leaning away from the trend to make every game release $70.
The Metal Gear Solid Master Collection was first revealed at the PlayStation presentation in May before Nintendo showcased it for the Switch, setting it up for what will be a busy October. When first shown, it was tagged at the end of a reveal of the remake of the third installment, Snake Eater. This collection will contain the first game, Sons of Liberty, Snake Eater, Metal Gear, and Metal Gear: Solid Snake. It will also offer bonus content consisting of the following:
- A screenplay of the in-game text of each installment
- A master book that details the world and characters
- Two digital graphic novels
- Three exclusive digital songs (Pre-order only)
Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Gets October Release for Switch and Other Platforms
A $60 collection pack is not for everyone. You will be able to buy Metal Gear Solid, Sons of Liberty, and Snake Eater separately for $20 each.
The biggest takeaway from Metal Gear Solid Master Collection coming to Switch, current-gen consoles, and PC is that it will be in a crowded month. October continues to look busier and busier with Spider-Man 2, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Alan Wake 2, Forza Motorsport, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Lords of the Fallen, Cities Skyline 2, and more releasing. No matter your taste in games or platform preference, from nostalgic throwbacks to AAA racing games to superhero adventures, there will be something for everyone to enjoy this October.
