Without a doubt, the biggest takeaway from Sony’s latest showcase was the gameplay footage of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. When we saw the teaser a few months ago, everyone craved more information about this long-anticipated title. After a lengthy gameplay trailer and an official release date revealed during Summer Game Fest, this game is almost out of the oven. Additionally, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 just got its official ESRB rating. This is huge for an upcoming title as the game has been analyzed and the developers are working on the final details before launch.

The official ESRB rating of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 stands at “T” for Teen. This means the game will share the same rating as its predecessors, and fans should be fine with that. These games never needed to be gory or expletive-ridden. They tell a good superhero story up to today’s standards, which attracts many people. While it seems this entry is going down a darker path by adding Venom and Kraven to the mix, we don’t think it’ll be more violent than the series’ earlier entries.

Spider-Man 2 pre-orders begin on June 16. This is fantastic for those who want to secure extra goodies before the game launches. The coveted Collector’s Edition even includes a 19-inch figure of Peter and Miles fighting Venom. Whatever the case, we’re happy to see this title is on its way, and we can’t wait to play it in October.
