It looks like the long-awaited Metro Exodus is going to be in our hands a little bit earlier than expected.
The new official release date from publisher Deep Silver is February 15th; a week ahead of schedule. The final chapter of the post-apocalyptic first-person shooter will be playable on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The Metro games were critically acclaimed for their narratives and great action gameplay. During E3 2017, the first gameplay demo was revealed for Metro Exodus and was met with an incredible amount of hype.
In a celebratory fashion, developer 4A Games and Deep Silver have revealed the opening cinematic of Metro Exodus featuring a beautiful piece of score. The sequence can be seen below:
The third and final entry in the series, Metro Exodus will be the first time that the franchise forays into an open-world environment, making it the most unique and ambitious of its counterparts (preceding Exodus are Metro: 2033 and Metro: Last Light). A great way to say farewell to Metro, perhaps.
A description of the upcoming title is as follows:
Metro Exodus is an epic, story-driven first person shooter from 4A Games that blends deadly combat and stealth with exploration and survival horror in one of the most immersive game worlds ever created. Flee the shattered ruins of dead Moscow and embark on an epic, continent-spanning journey across post-apocalyptic Russia in the greatest Metro adventure yet. Explore the Russian wilderness in vast, non-linear levels and follow a thrilling story-line inspired by the novels of Dmitry Glukhovsky that spans an entire year through spring, summer and autumn to the depths of nuclear winter.
