A Michigan resident’s parking dispute with a neighbor has drawn attention after a woman allegedly confronted her over a handicap parking space. The resident, who was eight months pregnant and wore a hijab, recorded the exchange as the argument became increasingly personal.
The video was shared on TikTok by @mimrahf. In her post, the woman explained that she lived in the apartment complex and had a valid handicap parking pass. She said she used the accessible spot when it was available and that the apartment manager and other residents had never raised an issue with her parking there.
According to her account, the confrontation began when the woman, identified in the post as Barbara Gold, approached her. The resident alleged that Barbara wanted the space kept available for friends who visited her. She also said she started recording because she had previously experienced harassment from another woman while driving through the complex.
In the video, Barbara questions whether the resident is actually disabled. When the woman asks if she thinks pregnancy is her disability, Barbara responds, “Well, could be.” She then adds, “Until your baby comes. We’ll see what’s disabled.”
The exchange grows more uncomfortable when Barbara tells her, “You don’t belong here.” The pregnant resident challenges her, asking whether she even knows what her disability is.
Barbara later tells her, “Keep your [expletive] at home. We don’t like you, we don’t want you, and neither does anybody else in the building. Get ready!”
When the resident asks what she should get ready for, Barbara refuses to explain, telling her to think about it.
The argument eventually circles back to parking. Barbara tells the resident to get a parking space and pay for it like everyone else. The woman responds that she already has a parking space, but Barbara insists she should buy another one.
The exchange ends with more personal insults. Barbara calls the resident “ugly and fat,” while the pregnant woman responds by making a remark about Barbara’s age.
