Inside Xbox first debuted during the 360 years only to be canceled in 2012. On March 5th, 2018, Microsoft announced that the news show would be returning for monthly installments starting March 10th. We are now only a few days away from the second episode of Inside Xbox but that hasn’t stopped Microsoft from teasing some huge news relating to Xbox’s backwards compatibility.

Courtesy of Xbox Wire, Tina Summerford (Director of Programming at Xbox) had this to say regarding what would be included in the next Inside Xbox broadcast:

“One of our most common requests is for Original Xbox Backward Compatibility news, and we’ll be starting off the show with a big update on just that.”

Backwards compatibility was first announced at Microsoft’s conference at E3 2015 to an overwhelmingly positive reception by gamers. Although the feature has been an outstanding success so far, many have wanted to see more original Xbox titles brought to the Xbox One. Here is what Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, had to say back in January (via Twitter) when asked about any news on original Xbox games coming to backwards compatibility:

“There are a number of OG games in BC pipeline, they won’t drop as often as the 360 games but team is working to validate and get permissions. More complicated with some due to the age of the rights etc”

If this tease was any indicator, it seems that the complications of getting these permissions were easier to work around than first anticipated. The second episode of Inside Xbox will be airing on April 10th, 2018. You can watch it on Mixer.com/xbox, Twitch.tv/xbox, and/or YouTube.com/xbox.
