Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton haven’t been together in nearly a decade. The singers were once one of country music’s hottest couples. However, after their divorce, they moved on. Shelton went on to walk down the aisle with No Doubt frontwoman Gwen Stefani. Meanwhile, Lambert met and married former New York police officer Brendan McLoughlin. However, that reportedly hasn’t stopped her from writing songs about her former husband, even after all these years.
According to In Touch Weekly, Miranda Lambert continues to pen songs about her relationship with Blake Shelton. Those songs are earning her money and career notability, despite her marriage to Brendan McLoughlin. Recently, Lambert released a new album titled Postcards From Texas. On the record, there are multiple songs that her friends believe are about her heartbreaking split from Shelton.
Miranda Lambert Still Writing Songs About Ex-Husband Blake Shelton
In the past, it was reported that Shelton and Lambert’s divorce was a bitter one. Allegations of cheating and other rumors surfaced during that time. However, these days, Lambert is reportedly healing and looking at the marriage from a different perspective. She’s even allegedly apologizing to Shelton in her song, Run.
“Oh this freedom I found, babe, sure wasn’t free / I owe you a lifetime of apologies / I’m tellin’ the truth now / I loved you so much / I’m sorry for lyin’ about who I was,” she sings on the track.
An insider claims that Lambert has moved into a different place while looking back at her marriage to Shelton.
“Miranda is older and wiser now and she no longer lays all the blame at Blake’s feet,” spills the source. “Now it still gives her fodder for writing hit songs!”
Meanwhile, some fans think that Lambert may want to move on from writing about Shelton. Instead, she may look to her current husband for inspiration.
“She needs to stop. That’s Gwen Stefani’s territory now,” one person commented.
“Miranda should have enough material thanks to her current husband. He seems like a walking red flag,” another stated.
Earlier this year, Brendan McLoughlin was caught on video dancing closely with another woman at Miranda Lambert’s Nashville bar. Although the singer didn’t publicly acknowledge the controversy, she was said to be upset by the situation. Meanwhile, she and Blake Shelton have continued to keep their distance from one another since their divorce.
