There’s lots of other food in the Appalachia in Fallout 76, but sometimes you have to make do with what nature provides you. And oftentimes, nature will give you a highly radioactive mutant egg. The game will also want you to find them from time to time as a daily mission. If you’ve been tasked with this, you’re in luck because our Mirelurk Egg location for Fallout 76 is here to help you find them.

[Updated on August 20, 2024 – Added more locations and a map for easier egg hunting]

Without relying on any event, these four locations marked on the map are the best places for harvesting Mirelurk Eggs. You can usually find them around these areas or inside buildings if there’s one on the spot.

In any casem here’s a detailed explantion and amount of Mirelurk Eggs per location in Fallout 76 marked on the map.

Mirelurk Egg LocationMirelurk Egg Quantity
1 – Mire’s Eye (cave)Around 9
2 – Grafton Dam (building)Around 3
3 – Highland MarshAround 18
4 – Ohio River AdventuresAround 13

You will need to go inside Mire’s Eye and Grafton Dam for the Mirelurk Eggs, so bring good weapon because there’s a good chance you can’t outrun whatever’s guarding the Mirelurk Eggs there.

Meanwhile, the Highland Marsh and Ohio River Adventures Mirelurk Eggs are just outdoors and around the area. When harvesting them, be careful not to shoot them while murdering the adult Mirelurks because the Mirelurk Eggs break easily. Additionally, there’s a chance that a Mirelurk Spawn might hatch out as soon as you collect the egg.

If you want a guaranteed Mirelurk Egg or Eggs, then you can also join the Swarm of Suitors event in Pioneer Scout Camp. Here, you’ll be tasked with defeating waves of Mirelurks. As a reward, you can get around 1-3 Mirelurk Eggs which isn’t as lucrative as the locations above.

Mirelurk Eggs are food but I don’t recommend eating them right away because the Radiation content is too high. There’s also a chance to catch a disease after consuming it raw.

Instead, you can cook the Mirelurk Eggs to purify them and to turn them into a decent food buff. Here are the following food you can cook (or craft) using Mirelurk Eggs. Note that these also need other ingredients apart from the eggs:

  • Aged mirelurk queen steak
  • Corn pone
  • Cramburger
  • Mirelurk cake
  • Mirelurk egg omelette
  • Mud cookie
  • Pumpkin pie

So once you’ve acvhieved the daily quest, you can put your Mirelurk Eggs to good use.
