Bad news about the World Cup has become quite the norm among circulating posts online. Yet it seems this monumental event can also bring good news, as seen in Kansas City, Missouri. Algeria and Austria played this weekend, and fans of the former team made the news for their exceptional manners after the match, leading many Missouri citizens to praise them.

Supporting Algeria doesn't stop at the final whistle. Congratulations on qualifying! Our supporters were committed to keeping the stadium clean before leaving. Thanks for everything.

Reddit user Choice-Schedule-132 shared a clip from Algeria fans after the World Cup match that took place this weekend in Kansas City, Missouri. The clip, which has a caption that roughly translates to “Algeria is proud of our deeds,” shows a couple of fans cleaning up the stadium after the match. Even OP, who was the one who shared the video, said: “Our supporters were committed to leaving the stadium clean before leaving.“

This short clip was more than enough to make several Missouri residents praise international fans, as many countries have been showing great sportsmanship and a lot of manners that certainly go a long way, especially during this event that has been a bit controversial in some areas.

As you can imagine, this clip also encouraged many Redditors to leave their opinions, with the majority congratulating international fans, yet a few others also criticizing locals in some ways.

Missouri Redditors Think Citizens Could Learn From International Visitors

After seeing how foreign World Cup fans behaved once the match ended, they showered them with praise, saying this is what everyone should be doing in the event.

“Congrats to Algeria. Love seeing KC being internationally recognized and being great hosts.“

“Very cool, Algerian fans may have won me over.“

Others, however, also mentioned that some Kansas City residents could learn something from these fans, as certain football games tend to bring the worst out of some people, at least according to some.

“Maybe this will teach Chiefs fans how to act.“

“Imagine Chiefs fans doing this…“

Regardless of which fans are doing what, many agree that it is great to see people showing sportsmanship, as events such as this one are supposed to bring people together, not the other way around. Some people have also mentioned that other international World Cup fans have shown the same manners, and many hope this will continue as the matches move forward.
